The International Scientific Conference “International Dialogue: East–West”, organized by the International Slavic University in North Macedonia, has been bringing together researchers, academics, and scientific professionals from around the world since 2010. The first edition was held on 15–16 February 2010 in Sveti Nikole, welcoming 55 authors from six countries who contributed 53 scientific papers. Initially focused on the integration of Slavic cultures and intercultural dialogue, the conference gradually developed into a multidisciplinary international scientific event.
Over the years, the conference has grown significantly in both participation and academic scope. Its 10th anniversary edition in 2019 brought together 266 authors from 10 countries, contributing 165 scientific papers. Throughout its history, the conference has welcomed researchers from North Macedonia, Russia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and other countries, strengthening international academic connections.
The conference covers a broad range of scientific disciplines, including economics, law, political science, psychology, education, philosophy, linguistics, cultural studies, security engineering, and computer science. This interdisciplinary approach encourages the exchange of knowledge and research perspectives among scholars from different academic backgrounds and institutions.
An important part of the conference’s academic contribution is the publication of scientific papers in the journal “International Dialogue: East–West” (ISSN Print: 1857-9299; ISSN Online: 1857-9302), published by the International Centre for Slavic Education. The journal is listed in the EBSCOhost database, supporting the international visibility and accessibility of the research published through the conference.
With more than 15 years of academic tradition, International Dialogue: East–West continues to provide a platform for scientific cooperation, interdisciplinary discussion, and international networking. Its history reflects the International Slavic University’s commitment to connecting academic communities and encouraging the exchange of scientific knowledge across borders.
