Abstract: Chronic diseases are long-term conditions that often progress over
time and require ongoing medical care. They affect not only physical health, but also psychological well-being, social relationships, and overall quality of life. The aim of this theoretical paper is to examine psychological and social factors in people with chronic diseases, with a special focus on adaptation and regular medical monitoring as ways to improve quality of life. This paper is based on a review of relevant literature, document analysis, comparison, and an analytical approach. Chronic diseases are complex conditions that influence physical, psychological, and social functioning. The findings emphasize the importance of the biopsychosocial model and an interdisciplinary approach, which help to better understand patients’ needs and improve healthcare outcomes.
